Chapter 1:
Two girls stopped in front of a gigantic, metal building. One of the girls, who sported shoulder length brown hair, with blue stripes that matched her navy blue eyes, looked at the bronze, rusted door.
“This must be it.” She said, turning her head to look at the other girl that had long blonde hair tied up in a half pony tail and had lighter blue eyes.
“Well aren’t you going to knock, Kayou?” The blonde motioned towards the looming aperture.
“Why can’t you?” Kayou mustered.
“Kayou!” Her friend whined.
“Kaori…” Kayou glared.
“Oh, fine…” Kaori walked up to the entrance way and held up her fist, hesitating for a moment, then banged lightly on the door and stepped back.
After a moment, a boy with black hair and an orange, swirly mask that resembled a lollypop poked his head out.
“Who’re you?” He asked.
“I’m Kaori and this is my partner-in-crime, Kayou!” Kaori answered.
“We’re here to join the Akatsuki.” Kayou corrected her blonde friend.
“Oh! Okay! Come on in.” The boy led us inside the giant fortress.
“Hey, guys! We have visitors!” The black-haired boy turned back to us for a second. “Stay here. I’ll be right back!”
He skipped into the other room, leaving the girls to wait in suspense.
The two girls inspected the room and observed that there was little light; all the corners were covered in shadows. It was mostly bare, but there were a few chairs lying around and an occasional mini-table.
“I hope they let us join.” Kaori smiled, but fear still crept down the back of her spine.
“Why won’t they? They shouldn’t have anything against girls…” Kayou reassured.
The door that the boy exited through suddenly shot open, and the girls jumped back.
“Hey! They said they wanted to join! So I thought-…” The same person who let the girls in was stumbling about next to another man, who had red, spiky hair, many piercings, and seemed to be leader of the clan.
“Shut up, Tobi!” The red-head said as he shoved Tobi to the ground. He walked swiftly and angrily up to the newcomers.
“Who the hell are you?! How did you find this place?!” He barked callously.
Kaori backed up ever-so-slightly, but Kayou seemed unaffected by the leader’s menacing tone.
“We’re here to join the Akatsuki Clan. We’re ninjas.” Kayou replied calmly.
“And what makes you think that I’ll let you join?” He challenged.
“Look, we may look like nothing much, but believe me, we kick ninja butt.” Kayou defended.
The man smirked at her remark and backed off a bit. “Oh yeah? I guess we’ll just have to see about that.” The man turned to the ever-friendly Tobi, who stood in the corner. “Tobi, go get a room ready for these two girls.”
“Yes sir!” He said as the red-headed man turned back to us. Tobi waved towards Kaori and Kayou then ran into the other room once more.
“As for you two; I’m going to give you five days to prove yourselves worthy of joining the Akatsuki… And if you fail, we kill you.”
Kayou’s eyes narrowed. “You’re on!”
Kaori, however, stiffened from fear of death.
The leader turned and started walking out of the room, then stopped.
“By the way, you’ll address me as ‘Pein-sama’ or ‘Sir Leader.’ Nothing else.” Pein disappeared, shortly after Tobi ran in, followed by nine other Akatsuki members.
“So… these are the new members?” A blonde haired boy with an artificial eye said. He seemed to resemble Kaori to a surprising amount.
“They’re not technically members yet…” Another one with grey-blue skin and slits on his face smirked.
“You guys, this is Kaori and Kayou.” Tobi introduced the ladies first. “Kaori and Kayou, this is Deidara, Kisame, Zetsu, Kakuzu, Hidan, Konan, Sasori and Itachi.”
The last two caught the girls’ attention. The one that caught Kayou’s eye was Itachi; a young boy that looked about 17, with black hair tied back into a low pony tail and onyx eyes. The other with red-ish hair and magenta eyes named Sasori, on the other hand, caught Kaori’s attention.
“Whoa…” Kaori nudged, whispering “Sasori and Itachi are kinda… hott!”
“Yes, I know! Now shut up because we’re supposed to be making a big impression!”
Kaori pouted and turned her attention back to the rest of the members, and then realized they were staring intensely at them, except Tobi who was dallying around.
“What? It’s not like you’ve never seen two girls before!” Kaori jabbed.
“Well, not pretty ones.” Deidara smiled flirtatiously. Konan, the only girl in the clan, slapped him in the back of the head.
“Excuse me?” she snapped.

(Later: Down in the Kitchen)
“So…” Sasori said to Itachi. “What do you think about the new girls?”
Itachi paused for a second “Meh…” he shrugged. “I guess the brown haired one is okay… but the blonde one is a little annoying…”
Sasori smirked at his remark.
Just then, Kaori and Kayou entered. Sasori stared at them, and Itachi turned around to see the subjects of their conversation walk into the room.
Kaori and Kayou looked at the two boys and felt a strange intensity flow around them, almost like the two were talking about them before they arrived.
“Uhh… Hi?” Kaori smiled brightly.
Sasori sort of smiled back at her, while Itachi turned his attention back to Sasori.
“Do you guys have any ramen?” Kayou scavenged through the cabinets.
“Or cookies?” Kaori popped her head to the side.
Sasori got up and walked up to a cabinet on the opposite wall they were looking in.
“It’s right here.” He grabbed a bag of ramen for Kayou and then turned to Kaori. “We don’t have any cookies, though.”
Kaori sighed then leaned up against the counter.
“What do you guys do for fun around here..?” She asked.
“What do you mean.. ‘fun’?” Itachi stared at her.
“You know… Fun!” Kaori grinned “When there’s nothing to do, Fun keeps you busy. It makes you feel good. It’s… fun?”
“Um… Kaori?” Kayou nudged her in the sides “It sounds like your describing drugs…”
Kaori paused, then put both her hands up to her cheeks.
“Aw, forget it!” She mustered.
Sasori and Itachi snickered at her ditzy moment.
“So…” Kayou said after a few minutes of silence. “What do you want to do now?”
“…Let’s go to the main room!” Kaori concluded.
“Okay…” Kayou glanced over to Sasori and Itachi “You guys wanna come?”
“Sure... Why not.” Sasori said and followed them into the other room along with Itachi.
Once they reached the main room everyone was sitting on a couch or leaning against a wall.
“Man… I’m so bored.” Kaori exhaled.
Kayou thought for a second. “… Let’s go pillage a village!”
“Hey!” Kaori exclaimed “That rhymes!”
“…” Tobi paused, while sitting across the couch from them “That does rhyme!”
Everyone except Kaori, Kayou and Tobi smacked their heads with their hands and sighed.
“Aw!!!” Kaori glomped Tobi “You’re so cute!”
Kayou grinned at Tobi.
“Okay then… are we going?” Said Kayou impatiently, standing up.
“It sounds fun!” Kaori said ecstatically. “Let’s go!”
Kaori and Kayou got up when somebody tugged on the edge of Kaori’s shirt.
She turned around and saw Tobi.
“Can Tobi come? Tobi will be a good boy!” He pleaded.
“AW!” Kaori smiled, hugging Tobi once again “Can he?”
“Sure, why not? It’ll be fun.” Kayou smiled.
